"Life off" , pencil on paper 1996

Synopsis:
On a long white table placed under a white neon tub, we can see six little boxes and a computer screen:

- The computer screen is showing an artificial life ecosystem (Von Neuman system)
- The boxes have inside the words of the sentence «Le sens de la vie ...» (meaning of life). These words are digested by bacterias (Mac Konkey).

2 phenomenons are constrating:

- Virtual and artificial life entities (cellular automaton) are generated from language algorythm (the computer code).
- Agressive bacterias are digesting physically the different words of the expression «Le sens de la vie ...».
